Unpredictable Dinning Rooms

I just love the element of surprise in design...combining fabric, textures, colors, furniture and styles adds to the design elements.  I have chosen some of my favorite photo's of unpredictable dining rooms.

Fresh Cut Colors

Nothing screams summer more than colors and flowers.  For some strange reason, most of our society only decorates with color in the summer months; and primary in their porches and outdoor spaces.

I came across this company while reading one of my design magazines on the beach.  I immediately tore out the page with these wonderful eye catching patterns and brightly colored threads.  The company that I am featuring in today's blog  is Quadrille and the China Seas Collection .

Now that I have my own grand children I have been gravitating towards nursery and children's rooms.  Here are a few that I just love…that were featured in AD magazine.

Touch or obsessed with the color Turquoise

I love the color of Turquoise.....it spans for watery blue to green jewel tones....I love to see at least one piece of Turquoise in every room decor.  Today I am previewing fabrics from Harlequin by Zoffany in the UK ...

Turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word.  It presents as a friendly and happy color enjoying life.

I came across a blog by Erin called House of Turquoise, she is obsessed with the color turquoise....she has a collection of inspirational photos that she features.

the perfect color sea glass color for your walls

I know that most of you that may be reading my blog do not have the availability of hunting for sea glass.

I do and let me tell you it can get brutal out there.  My sister and I have started a fieriest competition for not only the rarest color glass, but for the most collected during the summer season ; FYI (she is winning).

We have gotten chased by the Seaside Park Guards for entering an area off limits after Super Storm Sandy hit .....and have ran and pushed one another to pick up the glass first.  After last October's Storm, we have found many pieces of glass including pottery pieces.  The very best is when you find that perfect shade of blue.

The color blue is associated with summer from the navy to the aqua blues ...a summer home painted in blues is always bright and welcoming and SCREAMS SUMMER!

I came across this blue below that I thought would be a great color for any room.  Its call Benjamin Moore Glass Slipper.

color inspiration when traveling can happen anywhere

I don't know how many of my readers know that I spent many years traveling to Africa for my former employer.  I was always inspired by the bright colors and prints.

I just returned from a Disney Vacation with my husband, daughter and two grand children.  I was so impressed by the authenticity of a small village that sits in the Animal Kingdom in Disney, but could very well be a village in West Africa.

I now know why so many corporations follow the Disney culture ......They are seriously at the top of their game!  This picture below was a trip that I took to Kenya visiting the Masai Tribe. As you can see from the picture, the prints and colors are just amazing.....

A restaurant in the park  that actually serves Tusker Beer, which is one of the largest brewery in Kenya

the colors are so spot on

The architecture captured was amazing

The advertisement on the buildings

Even the electrical components captured the true region

The flowers were all so beautiful
